Welcome to OuNa! Cyprus’ first sustainable outdoor & nature kindergarten, managed by German professionals! OuNa stands for Outdoor and Nature, and is a special place crafted for kids to experience, learn & discover, take care of and enjoy nature!

At our kindergarten the primary focus is on outdoor activities, aligning with our values of connecting to and respecting nature. We believe this vital knowledge is essential for our future generations. We pay particular attention to learning how to treat nature properly, i.e. using natural resources smartly, recycling, protecting nature and general knowledge on how nature works. We believe this to be core knowledge children need.

This is a place where children grow up with respect and learn to respect each other; they learn how to work as an individual and as part of a team; how to communicate with classmates; how to help and to ask for help; how to control oneself and much more. As a bilingual kindergarten we speak German and English providing a great opportunity for your kids to grab two languages without great effort. As OuNa is managed by the German team, paying great attention to quality. Ensuring high standards in every detail your children are safe and well-cared for!

Curriculum

At OuNa our little outdoor naturists develop life long skills in mind, body and spirit. We nurture each individual to become confident learners and communicators. Our community spirit empowers them to feel secure and valued contributors to society.

We have a unique curriculum combining the very best practices of internationally recognised programmes like: Te Whariki from New Zealand, Reggio from Italy and the best practices of Scandinavian education.

A core principle is to educate children via the natural world: how nature works, our relationship with nature, sustainability, recycling and more.

There are no other fees!
  • Families, who have more than one child registered at OuNa, are entitled to a 15% discount for the second child and a 10% discount for each subsequent child.
  • Families with 4 or more children are entitled to a 10% discount.
The kindergarten reserves the right to make changes without prior notification. Discounts cannot be combined
FEES PAID ARE NON REFUNDABLE.

Social Program

At OuNa we believe that absolutely all children deserve the best! And we want to introduce our special program which supports low income families, i.e. we provide a free space in our kindergarten for kids.

As we have a limited number of places available, please, apply for the program on our website. The winner will be selected randomly on random.org

FAQ

There are max. 16 children in a group.
There are always 2 teachers (English-speaking and German-speaking) in every group.
We speak English and German with kids.
From 2 to 4 years old.
Higher pedagogical education.
We are open from 8 am until 5.30 pm.
We are closed during all public holidays, and during August we are closed for summer vacation.
Yes, there are 3 meals. We have our own chef who cooks only healthy food.
You are very welcome to visit us Mon-Fri, 8 am – 5 pm. We will give you an excursion around OuNa and will answer all your questions! Please, contact us and make an appointment.
We accept quarterly payments in advance.
Yes.
Yes, we have equipment on site and our teachers are trained to provide first aid.
We will call you and take care of your child until you come.
This is not a problem. We will assist your child.
